Floor cleaning is one of the most tedious jobs that mankind has been burdened with and there is precious little he can do to get out of that permanent noose. Dirt collects all over the floor in the natural order of things and the simplest rules of hygiene demand that people should make floor cleaning a habit. Sometimes homes, offices, or public buildings have wall-to-wall carpets, so that those responsible for cleaning the area can bid adieu to floor cleaning. But that is no release from the job in the real sense of the term. It is only like shifting the burden from one shoulder to the other. If the floor is carpeted, instead of floor cleaning, you have to do carpet cleaning.
Since floor cleaning and carpet cleaning are eternal crosses that people have to bear, the best thing they can do is lighten its burden, with innovative means that will make the work easier and results better. One of the methods by which modern technology has brought about this requisite change is by introducing steam for both floor cleaning and carpet cleaning. If the power of steam has made the first locomotive engine possible in the 19th century, the power of steam has made the best floor cleaning mechanism possible in the 21st century.
Floor cleaning is done these days with steam mops that practically sterilize the floor. Once these steam mops have taken over the job of floor cleaning, the good old bucket and mop have literally kicked the bucket. Where large floor areas have to be cleaned, as in the case of hospitals, theaters, or hotels, steam cleaning is the best solution for floor cleaning. The mechanism works exceptionally well for hard floors, walls, furniture and every type of hard surfaces including the ceiling. It has got a micro fiber mop head and takes far less time to clean than the conventional mop.
Carpet cleaning can also be done with steam power. Machines that use steam do an excellent job on carpets and leave it as good as new. However, those who use steam machines for carpet cleaning should decide in advance how they are going to dry them. If there is proper facility for drying the cleaned carpets outside, carpet cleaning with a steam machine is the best way to have them cleaned. Or else, it can be dried inside itself, by allowing more air circulation, or by increasing the room temperature, or by using driers. Using the carpet before it is fully dry will leave it dirtier than it was before it was cleaned. If there is no provision for fast drying, it is better to resort to more conventional carpet cleaning methods like vacuuming.
